A new water architecture for southern Tamaulipas.
Genesis turns a sanitation liability into a productive asset: it recovers urban wastewater, treats it for industrial reuse, and frees the freshwater of the Tamesí–Chairel–Champayán system for human supply.
A land of water, a vulnerable system.
The metropolitan area sits on a territory of rivers, lagoons and wetlands, yet faces droughts, saline intrusion, network losses and competition between urban and industrial uses. The 2024 crisis showed that geographic abundance does not equal water security.
Substantial installed capacity, underused because wastewater does not always reach the plants. Building treatment without repairing collectors and pumping stations would not solve the problem.

Rebuild collectors; optimize the Primavera pumping station; 8.5 km, 800 L/s system.

Transition pumping stations between plants/pumping stations 1, 7, 8 and 9.
→ Collect overflows from Tampico and Madero and channel them toward La Barra.

Use the reported 300 L/s capacity WWTP.
